1 Healthy Eating Tip That Trims 50,000 Calories From Your Diet: Episode 7

Websites and resources mentioned in the show:
Exercise does not help you lose weight (Read the article that is causing such an uproar)
Simple Fat Loss Recipes (197 healthy fat burning recipes that taste great)
Weight Loss Struggles (FREE Video reveals #1 secret to why you struggle with your weight loss. It is not what you have heard before)
We could spend 5 of these episodes discussing this Time magazine article and the errors this writer made, but instead I am going to just say one thing.
You can exercise all you want and as long as you want, but if your diet is horrible and you are eating more calories than you burn of course you are not going to lose weight. It is called common sense! Read the article and then leave your thoughts below.
Don’t egg yolks make you fat and cause high cholesterol levels? Why do you recommend so many eggs? See what I have to say about this and what the scientists tell us.
What cut of beef do you like? Choose the wrong kinds and you could be eating 25 more grams of fat and fewer grams of protein.
Finally, how do you cut 50,000 calories from your diet? It is simple really. You eliminate one simple food item per day.
Yours in health,

Hi Jayson!
Thanks for your video! I have a questions. What do you think about protein amounts for each person….and how do you control calories if you you don’t want to eat a bunch of meat? (Beans have more carbs and cals than meat to get same amount of protein)?
Here is my tip!! : Eat veggies with every meal! I make that a MUST and it controls my portions of other items, and adds a ton of nutrients and fiber.
Thanks,
Tiffany

In his Time article, John Cloud writes:
“Which means that after you work out hard enough to convert, say, 10 lb. of fat to muscle — a major achievement — you would be able to eat only an extra 40 calories per day, about the amount in a teaspoon of butter, before beginning to gain weight. Good luck with that.”
Absolutely incredible! He’s the first person on earth to figure out the physiologically impossible. Fat converting to muscle. Is that like converting lead into gold?
I especially love the part about the obese actually “exercising” more than the rest of us. So we should all gain 100 extra pounds of fat so we will burn more calories climbing those stairs?
I’ve never, ever heard any fitness or nutrition expert say you can lose fat with exercise alone. NEVER! So where did he get that idea? And why does he think any of us believe that?
If he thinks his work-outs are hard on him, they’re nothing compared to the backlash he is receiving from writing this stupid article.
Nutrition is the most important component of a sound fat loss program. I would put social (and psychological) support second and exercise third. ALL 3 are vital components.
And, Jayson, I second you on flank steak. Very under-rated cut of beef. I marinate then grill it about 4 minutes a side, let rest and slice across the grain. Great left-over for sandwiches.

Your tip is a very good answer to your question on controlling calories and not eating a bunch of meat. You can also choose fish if you prefer that over meat (beef, chicken). Cottage cheese or yogurt or good protein sources that are lower in calories as well.

Hey Jayson-
Just wanted to commend you on all of your hard work. I know it’s not easy to research, comprehend and break down the complicated processes that occur within the body that so vastly affect our ability to lose fat and become healthy.
Congrats on the site and keep up the great work!

Hi Jayson,
Loving the videos and great info you are putting out there.
I do have a question about your comment to drink water about 15- 20 mins before a meal. I totally agree with everything you said but I thought that drinking that close to a meal dilutes digestive enzymes and is therefore not good for digestion. i always try to keep my drinking water to 30 mins before or 60 mins after a meal/snack. Your feedback would be apppreciated. thanks and have a great day.

It really comes down to the rate at which your body digest foods, liquids, etc. Limiting it to 30 minutes before is fine also. In 20 minutes your body should have moved that water through the stomach at that point and already have been working on increasing the enzymes in the stomach.
I really haven’t seen much to state that their is a significant problem with drinking water too close to a meal.
