Are you strength training also? If you are not doing any strength training then yes it is possible. You should be strength training also though which will help speed up the weight loss and also prevent loss of current lean body mass.

I was told doing more than hour of cardio a day may take away my lean body mass. I am in process of losing about 60 lbs. I have lost 40 lbs. Will doing more cardio bring down my weight.

That is great news! I am glad you let me know. I love hear stories about people taking action and the success they get as a result.

Jayson,
I've really been enjoying your videos and think it is about time I let you know that. :)

Also wanted to let you know that since I started your Carb Rotation plan and dropped 34 pounds, I have been taken off ALL of my diabetic meds! Because of physical problems the past several months I have not been able to work out or even walk on my treadmill so all of the weight loss is from the eating program only. My doctor is ecstatic as am I! Am having this massive hernia fixed in 2 weeks and then I will be back walking and working out. The weight loss should really pick up after that. Can't thank you enough for such a great program.

It depends on what she is currently doing for nutrition already. The dress size reduction diet does come with a really good strength training and cardio workout program, but the bulk of the program is nutrition related.

Thanks. I'll recomend those ideas to her. She's been doing Leslie Sanson's walk away the pounds,3miles or more. I know she does a walk/jog video. But something odd she has mentioned several times is that she never sweats during the videos, no matter how hard she tries to pump it up. Once again, thank you for the input. I'll let her know. Do you think your dress size reduction diet would help this situation?
Thanks.

What are the cardio videos like for intensity?

I would venture to guess that her intensity with exercise could be higher as most people do not work hard enough with their exercise. Is she willing to try something different than cardio videos? If so try and get her to lift weights in an interval circuit fashion and also do other cardio workouts such as sprints for 30 seconds and jog for 1 minute. She could also do the same on a cardio machine where she goes as fast as she can on an elliptical machine for 30 seconds and then does it at a moderate pace for 1 min. Repeat that type of cardio for 20-30 minutes.

Thanks Jayson, enjoyed another show.

I'm going to try the sleep journal. I'm currently sleeping about 9-11 hours, depending on how fast i fall asleep and what time i actually get up. Is that too much sleep?? I love sleeping, but i must say, I'm not loosing weight from it :(

Also, I have a question on a topic I'm quite concerned about. My mom has been doing the yo-yo dieting her whole life. I am trying to help her to make this the last "diet" of her life, to get her healthy and happy. The problem is, she's not overly obese, she's 5'7 and now at 180lbs. She's been working real hard lately to get down to that weight, but when I saw her last month I could tell, all her weight that she re-packs on, goes straight to her hips and thighs. It's aweful! Her bottom half is twice as big as her top half, so unproportinate. I really want to help her "get healthy" (that's our moto), but I'm at my wits end with how to shed the fat from her hips and thighs. She does cardio videos at home, and she naturally eats healthy. Please help! What does she need to do differently?

Thanks

Melatonin is excellent for helping to fall asleep but you have to watch how much you take and when. It should be taken right after sundown. And if you are waking up groggy, reduce the amount you are taking gradually. If you are taking 3 pills, take only 2...or if 2, take only 1. If you want to discontinue taking Melatonin, don't go cold turkey. Gradually reduce the amount you take over several weeks. Stopping all at once can cause big problems with sleeping. The body naturally produces Melatonin and you are just supplementing it. Our fast paced world causes stress and anxiety that spills over into our need for sleep, and crowds out relaxing when it comes time for bed. Try to get into a routine before bed to relax, eliminate noise, and light just before trying to sleep. And give yourself 10-15 minutes in the morning to lie in bed and stretch and wake up before getting up. Also you might consult a naturopath or other doctor that follows natural supplementation for the correct amount of Melatonin for you. Remember it's usually how much and when you take it that effects the quality of your sleep.
