There’s alot of info and talk about coconut oil these days. I have incorporated it somewhat in my diet. Probably only 2 tsp a day however because I do use other fats like flax, olive oil, whole eggs, avocado etc. How much do you believe is a healthy addition? Also what do you recommend as a total amount of fat/saturated fat daily for women.
Some even say that you really don’t need to calculate the fat in coconut oil to your daily intake but I disagree….it is still a fat.
Also on the chia seeds….love to add them to my oatmeal before cooking…add a whole different texture to the oatmeal which is great. Could also bake muffins with them….I make all kinds of healthy, protein muffins to use for post workout or snack.
Have a healthy day

I don’t really give a recommendation for total amount of fats because if you are eating plenty of lean proteins and healthy fibrous carbs your fat level will be lower anyways. My recommendation is to not fear fats and when you do eat foods that contain fats ideally try to eat omega 3 rich food sources. I am a believer that the rest works itself out based on the other food choices you make.

Here’s a topic for discussion I hear that the FCC is trying to band or regulate the use of salt in food and resturant prepareration how do you this affect us as americans. I for one feel that the sodium intake is too high and is every thing we consume, try try very hard to avoid high sodium at all cost but seems hard to avoid. What are your thoughts on the matter.

another benefit of using D3 . For any who suffer with migraines as I have for the past 38 years it’s important to have your Vitamin D levels checked. Proper levels of Vitamin D are a must for controlling migraines. In my case the Headache Specialist put me on 4000 a day.

Hi Jason,
I met you at a conference in Tampa in January and spoke with at length about how cool the Fat Fighter series is. You still look more “jacked” in person than you do on the Fat Fighter video set!
Regarding Vit D3, I do take D3 tablets. A weight lifting buddy of mine (who is a Psychiatrist) told about the importance of fish oil & vit. D3 almost 3 years ago.
My question about D3 is what delivery form is best? I’ve read where it’s actually a hormone and a liquid version (or sub-lingual?) is better absorbed. I have not personally found a liquid form OTC, but I’m sure somebody offers it that way.
Thoughts?

I do remember that conversation and thank you. I guess I need to where tighter shirts on the TV show or do some pushups and get pumped up before I go on camera.
As for Vit D3 are you referring to liquid form as if you were to pour it onto a spoon and drink it? The capsule most commonly seen on the store shelves is a liquid and those capsules dissolve rapidly in the stomach so that would essentially be the same thing and more convenient. I have not seen any thing that says the liquid capsules are inefficient and as far as I know the research studies used liquid capsules for their studies again because of convenience.

Yes, even if you take Vit D3 you should get your levels checked at your annual checkup because many are still deficient and need to be bumped up in dosage levels.
Great comment!

I saw that as well and yes overall we consume too much sodium, but the big reason is because we eat the wrong foods. Eat the right foods and the government wouldn’t have to step in and try and control the sodium levels of foods.
As for eating out at restaurants ask them to prepare your meal when possible with no salt added. Most will be more than happy to honor that request because they want your repeat business. If they don’t make you happy then you never go back or tell your friends what a great experience you had at that restaurant. The good restaurants are very well aware of that and will do as much as possible to make your dining experience an enjoyable one.

I have been taking vitamin D-3 for several years and believe it is a good thing for me. I take a PPI drug for acid reflux that says it may cause bone loss. So, I went for another bone density test b/c osteoporosis runs in my family. My bone density increased while taking the drug and the only thing that can explain that is taking a 1000 IU capsule of dry D-3 every day. I am doing weight bearing exercise, but that did not change from before D-3. I still take an A+D liquid (400 IU) capsule every day and my calcium has 400 IU of D as well, but neither of these is D-3. So, it has to be the capsule of D-3 that caused my bone density to increase. My doctor was shocked b/c he thought it would decrease from the prescription drug. I am over 50 years old and he said it is rare to increase bone density at my age.
