Hi Jayson. I thought that this video was extremely efficient in stating the problems with America’s obesity issues. Think about it. You walk down a typical street and you will be able to SEE the facts all around you. It is a sad time for our great nation.
I, however, would like to ask something.
What are your views on EFA supplements working within the body to burn fat, speed up metabolism, and a bunch of other health benefits. I personally have tried it and here is what I noticed: My acne cleared up, I started to lose body fat but at the same time, gaining a healthier appetite. My cardio health improved, AND my bad cholesterol took a nose dive and now I’m considered healthy!! Of course, Diet and nutrition soon followed after my intake of these amazing fats, then of course exercise and resistance training.

I like EFA supplements for overall better health and all the things you mentioned. There is a lot of research showing all kinds of benefits with EFA supplements. I personally recommend Krill oil as the EFA because there is research showing even better results. I recently created a video talking about this research. Here is the url for the video. http://ProfessionalGradeNutrition.com/krill_oil

I just joined the 5 week weight loss and am reading through the materials to start my 1st week. I’m excited about watching theses episodes. The 1st one on the Set Point really hit home with me and now I know why my body kept going back to that set weight. It was very enlightening. On the second episode I agree I don’t understand how 1 in 4 kids are overweight, I continue to blame the parents on being uneducated about nutrition or they just don’t care. The visual of the diabetes and cutting off the foot is reality, and my goal is for that not to happen to me especially since I have a history of it in my family. I’m am excited about the program and the information that I’m learning. I’m really trying to change my mindset so this to truly become a lifestyle for me. Thank you!

Great content! Informative! Love the cute graphics!
And you’re bang on re: obesity being a family problem. Kids learn to eat what we allow them to eat and/or see us eating. You tell us straight up we need to take more responsibility, not just for ourselves but for our children. Thanks for the reminder.
I learned something new re: green teas so thanks for clearing that up!

Hey Jayson!
I receive your newsletters which I took the link to here. I am actualy in Toronto, Canada, and feel that the issues of obesity are probably about the same.
I have battled weightloss/gain issues my entire life. Of 33 yrs. Even though I’ve always been very aware of good health. I have 2 children of my own, whom I am constantly feeding good health information. They are very very healthy children. It is funny the way people feel about kids and weight. A short time ago someone had actualy told me they thought my kidas were too thin. Being proactive with my kids, I immidiately got my Family Doctors opinion. Of which he said they look great!! Meanwhile when i think about hte person who made the comment to me; 1 of the 2 children including theirself are very overweight. I look forward to your e-mails that are jammed with the best health info. Thank You for being a role model of good health and caring!!

Jason – I have read articles that say bottled green tea does not have the same health benefits as freshly brewed tea. One site that quotes several articles is at http://chinesefood.about.com/od/chineseteaandliquor/f/bottledtea.htm . I know you said in this 2nd show that it’s good to limit the amount of artificial sweeteners we consume, but I wonder what you think about the statements in this article about the loss of health benefits from bottling tea?
July 27th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
I have heard that from some people as well and depending on the brand of bottled tea and how it is bottled yes that would be true. Though there are bottled teas out there that are just as good as brewed tea.

Your suggestion for getting all the veggies ready early in the week is great. But even if you use Tupperware or Ziplock bags – doesn’t the vitamin and mineral value of the vegetables (like peppers) go down drastically as the days go by?
Your show is GREAT. More people need to know about it.
November 5th, 2009 at 2:38 pm
If the vegetables were still sitting there 7 days after cutting them or something then yes the vit/min content will start to decrease, but if you cut your vegetables and eat them within 2-3 days and then cut more you should be fine.
Thanks for the compliments on the show. Please spread the word about the show so we can educate as many people as possible.
